Today is a battle of two premium floor cleaners that have unique features and cutting-edge technology. We’re going to compare Tineco Floor One S3 vs Bissell Crosswave Max. Many people already know about Bissell, but Tineco is an up and coming brand that is finally getting the attention it deserves.

We’re going to compare Bissell Crosswave Max vs Tineco Floor One S3 based on their brushes, suction power, water tank capacity, battery life, and smart features.

Read on to find out which is best for your home.

Bissell Crosswave Max

Brush

Both the Tineco Floor One S3 and Bissell Crosswave Max have amazing brushes that are able to quickly pick up wet and dry messes. It doesn’t matter if there’s something simple like cereal or harder messes like broken eggs or dried syrup. Both brushes will make short work of cleaning your home.

At the same time, are there any major differences between these two? There are, and it plays into Bissell’s favor. As you may know from our other Bissell Crosswave reviews, this model is able to work on both rugs and hard floors. The brush was made to dig into carpet fibers and remove dirt while also being soft enough for hard floors like laminate, tile, sealed wood, and much more.

Tineco’s brush is very versatile when it comes to picking up dry and wet messes, but it unfortunately can’t work on rugs or carpets. This floor cleaner is made specifically for hard floors. That may not be an issue if you only have hard floors, but it can be disappointing if you have carpeting.

We have to give the win to Bissell Max Crosswave for having a better and more versatile brush, but Tineco does a great job as well on hard floors.

Tineco Floor One S3 vs Bissell Crosswave Max: Suction

While Bissell is a bit better due to being able to work on rugs, we have to call this section a tie. Both of these vacuum floor cleaners provide very strong suction that will short work on nearly any wet or dry mess.

It doesn’t matter if you’re sucking rice and dirt or spilled soup and cake batter, both of these will very quickly clean the mess until your home is clean. This will ensure that you can move on with your life without having to pass over the mess multiple times before it’s picked up.

Bissell does a little better on tougher messes because it’s brush was made for rugs and to dig deeper into the surface, but they perform about the same on hard floors. It’s a toss up here if you have hard floors, but those with rugs or carpets will likely prefer Crosswave Max by Bissell, but Floor One S3 from Tineco is amazing as well.

Bissell Crosswave Max vs Tineco Floor One S3: Water Tanks

As floor cleaners, these units are able to do both dry cleaning via vacuuming and wet cleaning via mopping. Like any other mop and vacuum combo, they can only do this by having a water tank attached to them. While some cheap models only have one tank, these both have two.

The purpose of two-tank technology is that one tank is dedicated to clean water and solution while the other is for dirty water, or anything that’s picked up off the floor. This means that the dirty water will never touch your floor, which ensures sanitary cleaning for your whole home.

Both of these have different water tank sizes. Let’s examine them to see if there are any major differences.

Bissell Crosswave Max Water Tank Capacity

  • Clean Tank: 28oz
  • Dirty Tank: 18.6oz

Tineco Floor One S3 Water Tank Capacity

  • Clean Tank: 20oz
  • Dirty Tank: 17oz

As you can see, there is a pretty big difference when it comes to the clean tank. Bissell offers 8oz more, and that can come in handy if you have a larger space or have tougher messes.

At the same time, many people will probably find them equally useful in this regard. The 8oz is great, but the Tineco 20oz tank should be more than enough for a few rooms. Refilling is also easy as it only takes a second to remove the tank.

While Bissell Max wins here, Tineco S3 is still very good.

Battery Life

Unlike most other models, the Crosswave Max is cordless and runs completely on an internal 36V Lithium Ion battery. Not only does it charge fairly quickly, but it lasts a good amount of time. Same goes for Tineco. It has a strong battery that allows for long cordless cleaning.

They also both have multifunction charging stations. They can hold extra brushrolls and accessories, plus they have a small footprint to ensure they don’t dominate a space.

So, does one have better battery life than another? Tineco is the winner here. It’s by a small margin, but it’s still an important one.

The Bissell Crosswave Max battery life is an impressive 30 minutes. That rivals some of the best Dyson models, and it’s amazing at this price point.

However, the Tineco Floor One S3 battery life is an even better 35 minutes. While five minutes may not sound like much, you can actually get a lot done in just five minutes. You can finish a whole other room or two depending on how messy they are.

While both are great, we do have to give the win to Tineco. You can probably finish the whole house with both, but you’ll get a little more done with the Floor One.

Smart Features

Just like with the other Crosswave models, Bissell is really lacking here. This is the most advanced model in this line and it still doesn’t offer any smart features. Tineco on the other hand has a handful of features you’re sure to love.

First of all, this vacuum connects directly to the Tineco app. You’ll get detailed information about your vacuum such as performance, maintenance notifications, if anything needs repair, if the water tank needs to be changed, and much more.

Then there’s the iLoop sensor. This takes advantage of the full color LED display and creates a 360-degree red and blue compass of your surrounding area. Blue means that the area is clean, but red means that there’s a mess nearby. The floor cleaner senses around you to ensure that everything is clean, and it’s so much more reliable than going with your eyes alone.

Tineco takes advantage of modern technology while Bissell Max doesn’t offer anything here. Crosswave Max is a great vacuum, but it’s certainly lacking in the smart features department.

What’s the Difference Between Tineco Floor One S3 and Bissell Crosswave Max?

Curious about what’s the difference between Bissell Crosswave Max and Tineco Floor One S3? There are actually a fair number of differences we can cover.

First of all, Bissell has a much better brush and is able to work on both rugs and hard surfaces while Tineco is only able to work on hard floors. Not only that, but the Bissell brush is better at removing hard stains and this comes with an extra brush roll. However, Tineco has a self-cleaning feature that is amazing.

They are tied for suction power, but Bissell has a larger water tank by 8oz. This is enough to get another room or two done. On the other hand, Tineco’s battery life is 5 minutes longer, which is also enough time for one or two more rooms.

Lastly there are the smart features. Tineco has an app, bright LED screen, and iLoop sensor. Bissell unfortunately has none of these features.
