We’ve covered both of these models in detail because they have both grown so popular, but let’s pit them against each other to see which is best for you.

We are going to compare Bissell Crosswave vs Tineco Floor One S3 based on their brush, suction, water tanks, battery life and cord length, and smarts.

Read on to see who wins.

Bissell Crosswave

Brush

First thing is the brush. While both of these are specialized for hard floor cleaning, the brush is very different and you’ll find that Bissell is far more versatile, but they both have amazing performance depending on how you use them.

Tineco’s brush is fairly standard, but that’s not a bad thing. It is able to pick up both dry and wet debris. From eggs and spilled coffee to cereal and dirt, Floor One S3 brush has no problem picking it all up. This brush can only be used on hard floors such as sealed wood, tile, laminate, and more. It also includes a self-cleaning feature. Simply push a button and the brush will be washed out in seconds.

Bissell Crosswave’s brush is better on hard floors, but it also works on area rugs and carpets. Just like Tineco, the Bissell dual action brush roll is able to pick up a variety of messes, plus it ensures quick drying whenever you use the water tank. This multi-surface cleaning makes this more versatile.

Overall we would say that Bissell is better because the brush is better at picking up debris, and being able to work on both hard floors and rugs makes it much more versatile. At the same time, we love the Tineco self-cleaning feature.

Tineco Floor One S3 vs Bissell Crosswave: Suction

Is there anything worse than buying a new vacuum just to find out it isn’t strong enough for your needs? We also hate having to do multiple passes over a mess just to find out that it isn’t getting cleaned and we need to get out the broom. Both of these have amazing suction thankfully (they’re both reputable brands remember! Tineco and Bissell have been around for many years).

The Tineco Floor One S3 has stronger overall suction. It has 30W of suction that is able to quickly pick up any messes with just one pass. This ensures that you can clean your entire home with ease.

While Bissell is a little weaker, the brush plays a part here as well. The dual-action brush is made to better pick up debris, and it works on both rugs and hard floors. This allows it to easily get the dirt and debris out of carpet fibers while also sucking up both wet and dry messes.

In terms of power, Tineco is better, but it still falls a little short here because it can’t be used on carpeted surfaces.

If you don’t have any carpeting, then Tineco is the better of the two. If you do have rugs and carpets, then we suggest Bissell Crosswave.

Bissell Crosswave vs Tineco Floor One S3: Water Tanks

Both of these are floor cleaners, that means that they use water to power through tough messes and are like a vacuum mop combo. Like most top floor cleaners, both of these use two-tank technology. This is common for many of the best units because it ensures your floors are as clean as possible.

When you mop, then you probably use just one bucket. That one bucket becomes dirtier and dirtier as you mop. This means that eventually you’re cleaning your floor with dirty water, and that’s really not effective.

Both of these use two tanks to prevent that. The clean water tank is what you’ll fill with water and solution. This is what is used to clean your floors. That ensures that your floors never interact with the dirty water, which keeps them as clean as possible.

The dirty water tank plays an important role as well. When these suck up the water, that water is sent to the dirty water tank. You can then easily remove and dump this tank.

While both of these have large tanks, there is a difference in their size.

The Tineco Floor One S3 clean water tank is 20oz or 0.6L and the Tineco Floor One S3 dirty water tank is 17oz or 0.5L. That’s pretty good and you’ll have no problem cleaning a few rooms or even your whole home.

However, the Bissell Crosswave water tank is 28oz, which is significantly larger. This should be enough for an additional two or so rooms, which might be needed if you have a larger space. The dirty water tank is about the same size.

Bissell is the winner here, but to be honest the 20oz with Tineco should be plenty for most people. Plus, the tanks are so easy to remove and fill that it’s very easy to stop and refill when needed.

Battery Life and Cord Length

Here’s one of the biggest differences between these two models. Tineco S3 Floor One is cordless while Crosswave Bissell is anchored down by a cord. Choosing a winner here is tough because you have to weigh the pros and cons of each.

Cordless vacuums allow you to go anywhere without having to unplug and move the cord, but they have a strict time limit from the battery. Plug in vacuum cleaners can work for hours if they need to, but you can only go so far before moving the cord.

The Tineco Floor One S3 battery life is actually very good and lasts up to 35 minutes. When compared to some other vacuums, like some of the Dyson cordless vacuums, you’ll see that this is actually quite a long time for a cordless floor cleaner. It’s on par with top models.

The Bissell Crosswave cord is a very long 25 feet. This ensures that you can get a good amount of cleaning done without having to move the cord. If you’re doing the whole house, then you may have to move it once or twice, but that’s about it.

Once again, it’s hard to pick a winner here. Both are good in their respective lanes, so it really comes down to whether you want to deal with moving a cord or charging the vacuum.

Smarts

Here’s one area where Tineco really succeeds and leaves Bissell in the dust. Bissell is a great floor cleaner and vacuum. It’s able to mop and vacuum at the same time, and it ensures that all wet cleaning is quickly dried. But, that’s really all it can do.

Tineco has iLoop technology. This is a sensor located right on the bright LED screen that acts like a dirt compass. It will show you exactly where messes are with its color-coded indicator. Blue indicates the area is clean while red means that there is a mess that needs your attention. This 360-degree sensor will keep your home cleaner than ever.

There’s also the Tineco app. This app gives you detailed information about the vacuum so that you’ll get notifications about performance, maintenance issues, reminders, and much more. It’s very similar to the Roomba app in terms of usefulness. You even get voice controls for easier use.

Tineco is the vacuum of today while Bissell (though strong and versatile) lacks any smartphone integration.

What’s the Difference Between Tineco Floor One S3 and Bissell Crosswave?

Curious about what’s the difference between Bissell Crosswave and Tineco Floor One S3? As you may have noticed, there are many differences here, so let’s get right to it.

First up, the brushes are completely different. Tineco can only be used on hard floors and the brush is fairly standard. Bissell can be used on both hard floors and rugs, and the dual-action brush was designed for digging into carpet fibers and also picking up messes from hard floors.

In terms of suction, Tineco is the stronger of the two. However, the Bissell brush plays a role here in making it a little more effective in picking up some messes. It’s nearly a tie, but Bissell is a little better. In truth though, you would be happy with either.

Both use water to bust through tough messes. While Bissell’s water tank is larger, both tanks in general should be enough to clean multiple rooms. If you have a larger space, then Bissell might be better. If you’re only cleaning a few rooms, then they are largely the same.

We then come to power source. Tineco is cordless with a good battery life while Bissell must be plugged in, but it has a good cord length. It’s hard to choose which is better. Tineco is certainly more convenient, but some might be turned off by having to clean within the battery life, while others might dislike having to move Bissell’s cord around while cleaning the home.

Lastly we come to app integration. Bissell is completely lacking in this category while Tineco has iLoop technology for sensing dirt along with a proprietary app for detailed information about your vacuum.

Final Thoughts

So, which is better? In many ways Bissell Crosswave is the winner here. It works on more surfaces, has a larger water tank, a significantly better brush, and isn’t limited by battery life.

However, Tineco has many strong points as well. It has better power, isn’t held back by a cord, and has iLoop sensing technology along with its own app.

In general, we think that Bissell is a little better and that’s largely because of the better brush and ability to do both hard floors and rugs. At the same time, Tineco has so many strong points that it’s nearly a tie. So, which one do you choose?
